Mark Eteson – Biography & Discography:
Mark Eteson – A Future Trance Hero
Mark Eteson is set to make his mark on the global trance scene in 2007. When someone with such ferocious musical talent (both behind the decks and in the studio), complete and utter enthusiasm and dedication to his art and a happy go lucky likeable personality comes along, you just know something very special is about to happen.
With Godskitchen announcing Mark to continue as their new main room after he has consistently played stunning warm-up sets and final sets for them throughout the past year, is a sign that this young man’s talent is too great to be ignored. The likes of Armin, Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, and Judge Jules, are already noting that Mark Eteson’s DJ skills are superb, so his continued Godskitchen residency is something to savour.
But it's not just when he's behind the decks that Mark is getting euphoric reactions from audiences. He has quietly been building up an arsenal of productions and remixes that are being snapped up and supported by the worlds finest DJs. Paul van Dyk championed Mark's very first release Atlantic, playing it on all sides of the globe, in two of his Essential Mixes and placing it in his Mixmag Chart.
Judge Jules has been giving Marks remix of Darren Styles - "Dropzone" support on his BBC Radio 1 show as well as playing Marks bootleg "Cherry Whip" a stunning 6 weeks running on his Saturday night dance show. Marks insatiable studio creativity doesn't end there.
With an ever growing list of productions (watch out for Atlantic on Monster), and remixes (check Ferry Corsten's classic Galaxia on Tsunami, and York's Mercury Rising on Offshore) winning support and respect from his peers, as they appear, its going to be hard to ignore Mark Eteson in 2007.
Already, Mark Eteson’s DJ and production skills are being utilized by Lost Language offshoot label, Solaris, to mix “Rendezvous 1”. This is the first of a series of compilations, which was released in May 2006. It featured some new and exclusive tracks from Mark himself, alongside a showcase of forthcoming tracks on Solaris and other labels.
Mark Eteson, a future trance hero? It might well be worth a trip to the bookies before everyone catches on…
Mark Eteson – A Brief History
Mark Eteson has been brought up on music. His father, Bill Eteson, is a musician and has been in a number of bands as well as having released 3 albums. So it was almost inevitable that the diverse and eclectic mixture of music Mark grew up with manifested into a love of electronic music at the end of the 1990's.
At school, after his 17th birthday Mark sold his birthday present of a Ford Orion to buy some Technics decks. He never looked back. Because of his musical background he became a technically gifted performer within weeks, and was soon mixing tapes for friends at college, as well as learning how to use low-key production packages.
As Mark entered his final year of University studying Law at Colchester, Essex, in 2005, he had to increasingly juggle 3rd year assignments with DJing and producing. But there was no doubt in his mind where he wants to be in years to come.
