Akira Kayosa (Russ Ogden) – Biography
24 year old Akira Kayosa hails from Northamptonshire England, DJing for around 10 years his rapid rise as a DJ has seen him play alongside artists like Armin Van Bureen , Sean Tyas , Markus Schulz , Guiseppe Ottaviani , Rank 1 , Menno De Jong , Alex Morph, Woody Van Eydon, Genix, JFK, Adam Sheridan at events like Passion, Slinky, Majefa, Versatille and many events worldwide from the UK to New Zealand & Ireland.
With emotionally fused energetic sets from this rising young disc jockey, comfortable playing warm up or his more traditional full on styled sound, a not to be missed performance.
Akira Kayosa's career started in New Zealand where he learnt to DJ. Soon after he became a resident for the renowned event Pumpin and was a regular at the UpFM radio studio's broadcasting his mixes across the airwaves and into the ears of his avid listeners this was all at the age of just 17.
Moving back to the UK in 2003 AK ventured onto production, 3 years later he became the person responsible for the huge remake of 'System F - Out of The Blue' of which even Ferry has a copy in his CD case! Being canned regularly by JFK at Gatecrasher and Passion, this immediately put the spot light on to Akira Kayosa and has since then been signed to some of the biggest labels in the game. Somatic Sense was quick to snap Russ up as well as Profuse, Alter Ego, Drizzly, Joof, Bonzai, Inspired Records and Aurora Digital. There aren’t many labels that haven’t had the Kayosa treatment.
One classic remake lead to another, and AK remade Digital Blande’s ‘Legato’ with Adam Coppack. which made it to number one in all the download charts.
Now in 2009, what a year it's been so far! His ‘Vimana - We Came 2009 Mix’ has been picked up and smashed non stop by the original producers of the track Ferry Corsten & Tiesto Themselves on their radio shows and at gigs. The remix eventually found itself on the original imprint, Tiesto’s label, Black Hole and was released in May 2009. AK’s tracks ‘‘Memento’’ and ‘‘Reflections’’ have also been supported by the worlds elite which only further cements this young British talent’s desire and will to succeed.
Akira also presents his own exclusive radio show ‘’Synthetica’’ on Afterhours.FM attracting more than 1400 listeners every fourth Tuesday of each month. AK presents another radio show with Will aptly titled Resonate. The show is broadcast on Slinky.fm, DanceRadio.gr, 1mix.co.uk and is available as a free podcast through iTunes and reaches almost 3000 listeners each month.
